Congratulations to the Class of 2022

We have much to celebrate with our graduates from the Class of 2022 and we invite everyone to be a part of these celebrations.

This site will be regularly updated as we continue to prepare for Graduation day on Friday, June 3, 2022. Please check back regularly for new updates and information. 

We will come together to recognize everyone’s efforts and achievements at Graduation on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM. There will also be a live stream available for those who wish to view the event that cannot attend in-person. 

We wish our graduates all the best in their future endeavours and we hope you will stay in touch!

Graduation Information

  • Graduates are asked to arrive on campus at 12:45 PM to pick up their gowns and prepare for the ceremony
  • Gown pick up and preparation will be in the Agronomy Building, classrooms 126/127
  • Staff will be available to assist graduates with putting on their gowns and stoles
  • There is no secure storage space for personal items; please leave your items with one of your guests
  • The doors to the Rural Development Centre (RDC), where the ceremony is taking place, will open at 12:45 PM for guests to find a seat
  • The graduation procession of staff, special guests, and graduands will start at 1:50 PM sharp 

  • Graduates will be able to bring a maximum of 5 guests with them to graduation 
  • The number of guests attending is indicated during the RSVP process
  • Please note, that the mask mandate is still in place on campus. All graduates, guests, and staff will be required to wear medical-grade masks while indoors

  • You can pre-order bouquets of flowers through Convocation Flowers, with pick-up prior to the graduation ceremony available in the lobby of the Rural Development Centre (RDC)
  • The pre-order deadline is Thursday, June 2, 2022
  • There will also be limited stock available for purchase the day of. On-site payment methods will include debit, credit, and cash
  • Graduates will not be able to carry bouquets into the ceremony with them, so please present your graduate with their flowers after the completion of the ceremony

  • Diploma/Certificate frames can be purchased through our online store
  • There will be an option to pick up your frame on Graduation day or you can have your frame shipped to your home
  • A small amount of inventory will be available for purchase at graduation. Payment options for day-of sales will include credit card, cash, or cheque
  • Please email rclibrary@uoguelph.ca if you have any questions about ordering a frame

  • Campus Swag and clothing items can be purchased through our online store
  • Please visit the online store for full details about what items are available

  • Parking is available in various lots around campus and is free of charge 
  • Parking attendants will be available to assist you in finding available parking on campus
  • Street parking on Main St (the road in front of the campus) is not permitted on either side
  • Overflow parking will be available at the East Kent Memorial Arena (Ridgetown Arena), 180 Main St E, Ridgetown (5-minute walk to campus)

  • Currently, the vaccination requirement and daily screening form have been suspended
  • The mask mandate remains in place on campus
  • All staff, graduates, and guests will be required to wear a medical-grade mask while attending graduation activities inside

  • Further information about accessing the live stream will be coming soon 

  • Graduation package (containing the diploma/certificate parchment, a copy of the Graduation Program, and an award envelope if applicable) will be couriered to graduates who cannot attend in the weeks following Graduation 
  • Please ensure we have your most up-to-date full address on file, which includes your house/unit number, street name, town/city, province, and postal code. Please note we are unable to courier to general delivery, postal boxes, and/or rural route only addresses

  • Please complete the Official Transcript Request Form to request an official copy of your transcript
  • Official transcripts from the campus will show that a certificate/diploma has been conferred only after the graduation ceremony date
  • If a student orders a transcript to be mailed, it is the student's responsibility to provide the correct mailing address
  • Transcripts are normally prepared within three to five business days, however, during busy periods (ex. common application deadlines) processing time may be as long as seven to ten business days
  • You can access your unofficial transcript through your WebAdvisor account if you don't require an official copy

TIMELINE

RSVP for Graduation

  • The Graduation RSVP will be open from May 9 to May 20, 2022
  • Graduates are required to RSVP for graduation, even if they cannot attend
  • Diploma and certificate grads complete the RSVP in the Student Portal
  • Apprenticeship graduates will receive an email with a link to RSVP 
  • Graduates will be able to bring up to 5 guests
  • A $20.00 graduation fee is due at the time of RSVP and can be paid by credit card
  • If you are eligible to graduate and are having difficulty completing the RSVP process, please contact Alison McMahon at amcmaho@uoguelph.ca for assistance
  • Students who are not eligible to graduate/didn’t apply to graduate will not be able to RSVP. Please contact the Campus Registrar, Christina Hoggart at rcregistrar@uoguelph.ca if you have any questions or concerns

Post Your Congratulatory Message

  • We encourage family, friends, and graduates to post congratulatory messages to either specific grads or the Class of 2022 on our Family & Friends message board found below
  • Posts are moderated and may take a day or two to show up

Order your Grad Frame

  • Order a parchment frame to proudly display your diploma or certificate!
  • Parchment frames can be ordered through the Ridgetown Campus Webstore and will be available for either pick up on Graduation day or will be shipped directly from the supplier
  • Any questions about ordering? Please email rclibrary@uoguelph.ca and we'd be happy to assist you

Pre-Order Flowers for your Graduate

  • You can pre-order bouquets of flowers for your graduate online from Convocation Flowers

Graduation Day Schedule

  • 12:45 PM - Student arrival for gowning up and ceremony preparation (Agronomy Classrooms 126/127)
